SACRAMENTAL LIFE

The sacraments stand as the most significant events in the life of the domestic church.

Council 4902 is committed to supporting our young families and their children as they participate and partake in the Sacramental gifts that are offered by the Catholic Church. The Knights of Columbus will always be present in a tangible and meaningful way through our support.

2024 First Communion Masses, April 20th and 27th, the Knights of Columbus Council handed out Mass Missalettes to the First Communicants. The books are designed for First Communion and contain the text for Holy Mass, Gospel stories, Prayers and Devotions, the Way of the Cross, the Sacraments, the Ten Commandments, the Rosary, Personal and Family Record pages and a section for a child’s own prayers.

Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, WI on July 15, 2023.

Brother Wilson Mills coordinated a day pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lade of Guadalupe. KC Members, spouses and family were invited to attend. We had a small turnout for the day trip, but a great group, and a great experience. Our Blessed Mother appeared to native American St. Juan Diego in 1531 at Tepeyac Hill in the area of modern day Mexico City. Our Lady of Guadalupe is also known as the Patroness of the Americas and of the Unborn. Our pilgrimage to the shrine included daily Mass and Eucharist, a walk through the Rosary Walk, Stations of the Cross and a visit to the shrine of the unborn. We celebrated Mass with other pilgrims and then had an opportunity to share in a lunch and fellowship with our host Ruben. The Council presented a check to Ruben as a donation to the Shrine. Please check out the photo montage from the pilgrimage.

In 2023 Council 4902 has provided Missalette to the first Communicants of St. Bridget Parish. Our Brother Knights presented a Missalette to each of the children as they came into the Church. The books are designed for First Communion and contain the text for Holy Mass, Gospel stories, Prayers and Devotions, the Way of the Cross, the Sacraments, the Ten Commandments, the Rosary, Personal and Family Record pages and a section for a child’s own prayers. The Council logo was placed on the inside cover of the Missalettes.
